Concept Hoberman sphere
One component – makes one sphere – cool toy cool concept
So we take the toys measurements, do some maths, thanks bobby and make a computer model animate it to see what we got…
it moves in and out beautifully
we then buy one hobermans spheres … give a it a go ourselves – model it at 1:20 with some of our housemates tights we pinned it too the inside of the toy, rigged it up with fishing wire on some mdf and hey presto!
slow shutter and zoom out when shooting – the shot and it looks like its moving!
so down to the nuts and bolts – after several – i mean a lot of time effort advise and googling, we manage to value engineer every building element to the wire – hence of the shelf shelf brackets do just the trick!
make some jigs crack out the mig welder and this is what we made, some sexy quad junctions of set centre lines to allow the two arms to pivot side by side
